The Great Challenge – Week 12

I’m seeing a trend here, in my stories for The Great Challenge with Dean Wesley Smith. I get going on a story, and on the weeks that I actually start before Sunday (I’ve been hit and miss on that), I get through Saturday and think I’ve got a good handle on the story, and it won’t take much to finish it up on Sunday.

And then, 5 or 6 or, once, 9,000 words later – all on Sunday – I finally finish it late Sunday night.

This week’s story required 7,000 words today.

But I finished it. Just a couple minutes ago. So, that’s yet another successful week in the bag. 12 weeks – 12 stories.

That’s money. Cash money. 🙂

Here’s the tally of challenge stories so far.

  1. Red Orchid – Romance – 3,800 words
  2. Debts And Obligations – Fantasy – 14,200 words
  3. Naughty And Nice – Modern Fantasy – 4,800 words
  4. Popper’s – Mystery – 4,100 words
  5. The Case Of The Missing Rocker – SciFi/Mystery – 7,200 words
  6. Fences And Neighbors – Post-Apocalyptic – 4,800 words
  7. Give A Dog A Bone – Doggy Mystery – 3,200 words
  8. No Title Yet – Romance – 5,300 words
  9. Lost On Cordant Station – Science Fiction – 8,560 words
  10. Kicking The Anthill – Urban Fantasy/Adventure – 3,863 words
  11. VIP Treatment – Modern Fantasy – 6,012 words
  12. A Man Of Faith – Religious/Supernatural Thriller Maybe? – 9,013 words

That brings it to 74,959 words total for this challenge, and 123,611 words for the year over the span of 66.03 hours (1871.95 words/hr on average).

Still haven’t caught up on the podcast, though. Gotta get on that, this week.

Right. That’s it for now. Have a great week, y’all.
