Deadline – Met

I pushed submit on my 4th quarter Writers of the Future story this evening, about an hour and a half ago.  So I just barely met the deadline, which was midnight tonight.  And the word limit of 17,000 words, too.  This story came in at 16,900.

And to think, when I started it, I was thinking it would be a 5-6k short story.  Whoops.  🙂

I’m not sure how well this one will do.  I ended up having to cut the story short to get it in under the word count limit.  I didn’t CHANGE it, per say.  I just made the ending go a bit faster than it probably could have.  We’ll see how Dave Farland responds to it, but no matter what, the important part is it’s done.

Plus, my 1st quarter 2013 entry is about 2/3 done.  I’ll finish that this week and send it in, then get back to work on Pericles.  For once, I’ll not submit a WotF story at the last minute!  Amazing!  At least that’s the plan.

Ok, that’s it.  Just figured I’d share.
